For all who weep and beauty seek - poems 1 - 10

Dear Ones, I began composing poetry for oboe solo in Spring of 2020. Book 1 of poetry was composed during the Spring and Summer of 2020.

For this book, my habit was to wake up about 5AM and compose for 1 to 2 hours. Where I live, it’s dark in the hour of 5.

Bravo to Alex, for such a personal interpretation.
I’m so grateful for his outpouring which we can all hear and share.

Just like poetry - each person is invited to interpret individually and as authentically as possible.

I love the wee hours of the morning as light gradually begins to return.
One poem not composed in the morning was poem no.6.
Other poems than the 10 in the book were composed, but those 10 were chosen.
FUN FACT: Poem n.4 was originally the last movement of FANTASIA n.3, however, as much as I loved the movement, the Fantasia works better without that movement, so I cut it.

After cutting out poetry, and while putting together the book of poems with the desire and intention of offering a book where each poem can exist solo - and/or sequentially in a book cover to cover to perform or enjoy privately, I felt that the cut 4th movement of Fantasia n.3 works perfectly after poem n.3 and so I was DELIGHTED to have found the ideal place for that composition, where it can serve in a highlighted capacity, adding just the right brightness and contrast.

Fantasia n.3 movements are thus related siblings to the book of poetry. They were all composed around the same time. Fantasias 1, 2, 3 and 4 are all spring summer works 2020 as well.

The Fantasias 1 - 4 celebrate Spingtime/Summertime VERVE
The Poems are dedicated to Alex, a dear friend, and to ALL WHO WEEP AND BEAUTY SEEK.

Life is short and the beauty of nature, art, poetry - all of creation - never ceases to amaze and inspire.

ENJOY.
